These are the punk bands that have drawn in lots of success over the years, have put out many albums, and have become fairly popular.
Most of them are models of the genre "punk" or "punk rock". Go check them out. Hopefully you should be well aquainted with them all already.
Alkaline Trio

Alkaline Trio's style is that of morbid lyrics, including
themes of alcoholism, drugs, boredom, heartbreak, fire, and
death which occur throughout all their songs. Alkaline Trio
is the ideal punk rock band. They are one with catchy
tunes, excellent guitar riffs, sorrowful and emotional
lyrics. They have had much success and still are going
strong under the push of major labels. If you haven't yet
heard of Alkaline Trio or listened to their music, give
them a try, they please easily.

blink-182
Pop Punk / Punk / Alternative Rock

blink-182 launched pop punk into a new era. Obviously being
pop punk, they were popular and in the mainstream. Still,
they had punk rock influences and brought punk music to new
listeners who may have never new it existed. blink-182
was (they recently broken up as of 2005) a very
successful band with many dominant albums including
Dude Ranch, Enema of the State, and Take Off Your Pants and
Jacket. If you want to try a more pop rock feel of punk
rock, start right here with blink-182.
